Day 1: We leave the Black Hills early and head north to Medora ND making comfort stops & lunch stop enroute. We arrive in Medora early afternoon and check into our hotel. After some time to freshen up, we depart
the hotel to visit Chateau de Mores. Located southwest of Medora, this site memorializes the life and activities
in North Dakota of Antoine de Vallombrosa, the Marquis de Mores, who arrived in 1883. Among his enterprises
were a beef packing plant, a stagecoach line, a freighting company, refrigerated railway cars, cattle and sheep
raising, land ownership, and a new town which he called Medora, in honor of his wife. Chateau de Mores This 26-room, two-story frame building was built in 1883 as the summer residence of the Marquis's family. The
Chateau is now a historic house museum and contains many of the original furnishings and personal effects of
the de Mores family. After our time at the Chateau, its time to leave for our evening of entertainment and
delicious food - the famous Pitchfork Fondue! We will enjoy a unique western meal with a magnificent North
Dakota sunset as a backdrop… savor your steak while you are serenaded with western melodies performed
live by cast members of the Medora Musical. Supper is served at the Tjaden Terrace adjacent to the Burning
Hills Amphitheatre.
Menu: Ribeye Steak fondued on a pitchfork, baked potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, fresh fruits and
vegetables, garlic toast, double chocolate brownies, lemonade, coffee, and water. Additional beverages
available for purchase. After supper then it’s time to go to our reserved seating for the Medora Musical. You
will enjoy a mix of modern country, western, gospel and patriotic music plus a talented cast of singers and
dancers from across the US. There’s everything from live horses on stage to nationally known variety acts. Sit
back and revel in the historic, patriotic themes dedicated to Theodore Roosevelt. A great fun filled evening
suitable for the whole family. After the show we return to the hotel for overnight
Day 2: We leave the hotel this morning and travel on the Theodore Roosevelt National Park Loop Road.
Welcome to Theodore Roosevelt National Park...The Badlands...some call it "The Land God Forgot", others
call it one of the most mysterious and beautiful places on Earth, still others liken its rugged terrain and awe
inspiring rock formations to a lunar landscape. No matter what one sees in the Badlands, one thing is for
certain..."This broken country has been called always, by Indians, French voyagers, and American trappers
alike, the Bad Lands." - Theodore Roosevelt. Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota's #1 tourist
attraction is a 70,446 acre park located in west central North Dakota. Collectively known as the "Badlands.
After our visit and a quick tour around downtown, we begin our journey back South. Again appropriate stops
will be made for lunch and comfort breaks. We estimate arriving back in the Black Hills between 4pm & 5pm
