2014 ANTIQUES AND GARDEN SHOW OF NASHVILLE
ANNOUNCES BESTSELLING BOOKS FOR PURCHASE
Be Inspired by Holiday Gift Ideas
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 12, 2013 – Just in time for last minute holiday shopping, the
2014 Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville today posted on its website links to purchase
the newly published books authored by the renowned designers and style mavens who will
speak at the show, which is scheduled for Feb. 7-9, 2014 at the new Music City Center.
“This year’s show is blessed with one of the finest collections of design talent in the history
of the event – and every celebrity designer at the show has recently published a book
chronicling their style,” said Vee Vee Scott, event co-chair.
“Gifting one or more of these books to your friends now will get them one step closer to
having them signed by the authors during the Antiques and Garden Show,” added event
co-chair Mindy Jacoway.
Books available for purchase at the website – www.antiquesandgardenshow.com – include:
Lady Catherine, The Earl and the Real Downton Abbey is written by keynote lecturer Lady
Carnarvon, the eighth and current countess of Highclere Castle, which is the property
featured in the PBS series, Downton Abbey. Lady Carnarvon’s new book closely mirrors the
show’s upcoming season, which picks up with the Downton residents in 1922, the year in
which Catherine married Lord Porchester, master of Highclere Castle. Nashville will be the
first stop on Lady Carnarvon’s U.S. book tour.
Decorating in Detail, by designer Alexa Hampton, owner of the world-famous design firm
Mark Hampton LLC, takes readers through her detailed process of designing elegant
homes. This is the follow-up to her critically appraised book The Language of Interior Design.
In with the Old presents 100 of the most stylish decorating details as told by wildly popular
“The Peak of Chic” blogger Jennifer Boles, who was recently dubbed “blogosphere
darling” by Departures magazine.
Fifty Years of American Interior Design is the eagerly anticipated first book from decorating
legend Mario Buatta. The book chronicles "the Prince of Chintz’s” career of designing for
the likes of Barbara Walters, Mariah Carey and former presidents.
Interiors is written by one of the world’s most respected and influential designers, Nina
Campbell, and features the private homes of her celebrity and dignitary clients. The homes
are all designed to suit a range of lifestyles, but all reflect her infallible eye for detail.
All books can be purchased now at www.antiquesandgardenshow.com. Event sponsor and
bookstore chain Books-A-Million will donate 20 percent of sales to the Antiques and
Garden Show of Nashville.
Additionally, speakers featured in the event’s Sunday lecture, including gardening expert
Jon Carloftis and Canal House chefs Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton will
have their most recent books, Beautiful Gardens of Kentucky and Canal House Cooking
respectively, on sale and for author signature at the show.
