Warner Bass, Ellie Ambrose and Dollar General Corporation Also Honored (Nashville) – The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Nashville Chapter will name Lee Ann and Orrin Ingram as the area’s Philanthropists of the Year at its annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) luncheon on Nov. 10, 2011, at the Hutton Hotel. Lee Ann and Orrin Ingram possess a profound understanding of the impact that philanthropy can have on a community. They provide both significant philanthropic support and visionary leadership to Centerstone of Tennessee, reflecting a commitment to the organization, to mental health research, and to families within the Nashville community. In addition to Centerstone, they support such organizations as The Center for Youth Issues, Saddle Up!, Friends of Warner Park, Harpeth River Watershed Association, to name a few. Also to receive recognition at the November luncheon are E. Warner Bass, selected as Fundraiser Volunteer of the Year for his work with Friends of Warner Park; Ellie Ambrose, selected as the Youth Volunteer of the Year for her work establishing Ellie’s Run for Africa; Kristen Oliver (Nashville Symphony), Renata Soto (Conexion Americas), and Dee Dee Wade (cont.) (Wade & Egbert Insurance Partners) selected as the New Faces in Philanthropy; and Dollar General Corporation, selected as the Corporate Philanthropist of the Year for their work through their General Literacy Foundation with the YMCA of Middle Tennessee and Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity and many other charities in Middle Tennessee. The emcee for the event will be veteran journalist Harry Chapman, former news anchor for NewsChannel 5 and current host of “Words and Music,” also on NewsChannel 5.
