National Contract Management Association Chapter Annual Report for Program Year 2006 - 2007 Northeast Indiana #116 Executive Summary The Northeast Indiana Chapter had a successful 2006-07 program year. The chapter provided more than 9 hours of continuous learning activities for its members this year. The largest event was the May presentation on Subcontract Management held 5/24/07, with 34 attendees. The Chapter enthusiastically supported Toys for Tots for the seventh year in a row at the November meeting as well as supporting the local food bank during our October meeting. The Chapter Supported World Congress by providing two speakers (Jim Kirlin and Po Collins), and Cheryl Nichols and Dan Batt attended as well. Financially, the chapter recorded a net gain this year the chapter remains fiscally sound with $10,102 in the bank before the pending chapter rebate. The chapter’s financial reports and audit were completed on schedule, and are attached to this report. The chapter’s main challenge continues to be finding volunteers to serve on the Leadership Team. The chapter struggled to round out the Leadership Team. Education programs include workshops, seminars, conferences, symposia, colloquia, and chapter membership meetings (that include content related to the contract management profession). Advocacy includes activities and information that serve to publicize the contract management profession, communicated through any media (presentations, letters, newsletters, email, websites). 2 of 5 Chapter Annual Report <Northeast Indiana> <Program Year 05-06> Objective 2: Describe how the chapter connected NCMA and members. This includes promoting NCMA in the local community, promoting national programs and initiatives with the chapter and the community, and the contributions or accomplishments of individual members outside of the chapter’s programs. Examples The chapter published three newsletters, which included informative articles on the profession as well as two or more monthly e-mail notifications. The chapter maintained a website www.ncmachapter.org /NortheastIndiana/default.aspx that included announcements, a point of contacts list, newsletters and job postings, The chapter was represented at World Congress by four members (two speakers-Jim Kirlin, Po Collins and two other attendees). Chapter President Mark Pearsall attended the February Mid Year conference in Florida The chapter initiated activities to sponsor and support the establishment of a local student chapter 3 of 5 Chapter Annual Report <Northeast Indiana> <Program Year 05-06> Objective 3: Describe how the chapter operated effectively. 1. Planning. The chapter conducted a team building and kickoff meeting in August, at which time the annual plan was developed, chapter records were transferred, and new volunteers were provided guidance on their duties and responsibilities. The chapter published an Annual Plan on 31 August, 2006. It included membership recruitment and retention goals and plans, listed target organizations for membership, and listed the programs and services the chapter would provide during the year. 2. Governance. The chapter conducted board meetings throughout the program year. The chapter conducted elections in May 2007 to fill officer and board positions for next program year. The list of chapter volunteers for 2006-07 is attached. 3. Operations. The chapter maintained a website to facilitate communications with the membership 4. Financial Management. The chapter treasurer completed monthly financial statements and provided them to the board for in the fiscal period. The chapter annual financial report for FY 2006-07 dated August, 2007 is attached. The chapter annual audit for FY 2006-07 dated August, 2007 is attached. No significant findings were reported. 5. Leader Development. The chapter recruited two new leaders for next year’s team during the program year. The chapter president-elect attended a mid-year leadership conference. 6. National involvement. The chapter president voted in the national elections in March 2007. Chapter members Po Collins and Mark Pearsall participated in national committees.
