Country Nursing Scholarship 2010 Statewide Cardiology Clinical Network The Statewide Cardiology Clinical Network has a commitment to the workforce development of Nurses. This Country Nursing Scholarship is a new initiative of the network designed to support Registered Nurses who live and work in country SA. The scholarship provides an opportunity for Registered Nurses to identify their professional development needs in relation to their management of patients with cardiovascular disease. The successful applicant will be funded to undertake an education opportunity (of a week’s duration) with cardiology services in metropolitan Adelaide. Scholarship purpose To provide an annual scholarship for the professional development of Registered Nurses managing patients with cardiovascular disease in SA country health services. Application dates Closing date for applications is 5pm, Monday 30 August 2010. Applicants will be notified of the outcome in early September. The application form below can be completed electronically, saved and then posted, faxed or emailed back to the contact person listed below. Selection Criteria Currently employed by SA Health Demonstrated commitment to cardiovascular nursing Demonstrated relevance of professional development to current workplace Demonstrated willingness to share learned skills and knowledge with colleagues In addition each applicant must have contacted the relevant metropolitan cardiology service(s) to outline his/her cardiology interests and seek advice on an appropriate placement plan. Scholarship selection A selection committee from the Statewide Cardiology Clinical Network will review all written applications Selection will be merit based, measured by the extent to which the written application meets the selection criteria.
