This post is suitable for an existing
specialty trainee who has completed
ST3-ST5 Cardiology training or ST4-ST5
Paediatric Cardiology training and who
wishes to specialise in the care of adult
patients with congenital heart disease
Evidence of interest in congenital cardiology
Ability
Knowledge, Clinical
and Technical Skills
Clear logical thinking showing an
analytical scientific approach. Good echo
skills. Conversant with most medical
emergencies and the ability to perform
essential procedures
Knowledge of cardiology complications, their
treatment and prevention
Teaching
To value the importance of teaching
others and continuing self-education
Experience of teaching undergraduates and
allied health professionals
Personal qualities
Good communication and language skills,
oral and written.
B.S.E. accreditation
Must be calm, compassionate and able to
respond efficiently to various
circumstances, which may change rapidly
Ability to work within and lead a multidisciplinary team
