Won “Best Stall” at Dickensian Christmas Market LC passed around shield and photos. Suggested that these be placed in cabinet at back of Church with short explanation - LC Fist Communion enrolment – after 11.00 Eucharist Sun 25th Jan Saturday Junior Liturgy session with Briars Reach4 Team was well attended and very much enjoyed, followed by Celebration at 7.00pm Eucharist Next session with Junior Liturgy and Briars Team – Sat 31st Jan, 3.00 – 5.00pm Parish Centre Nativity performed by children at St Anne’s Bath Rd and during 11.00 Celebration. Well received but some problems with sound. J&P MM Discussion: Peace Sunday (Pax Christi – www.paxchristi.org.uk ) Prayer for children available on website. Link to Pope’s address Possible collection/donation? Parish support? Donation made from Parish Christian Aid/CAFOD/Tear Fund – Peace Service – Sunday 18th CAFOD – “Shine a Light” Campaign, agreed cards should be available at the back of church. Requires signing and sending before end of Jan. Distribute with newsletters or on exit? Pulpit talk and include in newsletter Climate Change – petition to reduce 80% not 60% (consider shipping and aviation) Has been incorporated into Parliamentary Bill as a result of campaigning – now implemented Churches Together – Inter Church group (response to ecological initiative) environmental audit in Church? – to be discussed at next meeting Would the Parish consider buying recycled paper/envelopes through a negotiated deal? Fair Trade – We should be Fair Trade Parish using only Fair Trade products for coffee mornings etc Bidding Prayers request – include Peace – in particular Gaza, Zimbabwe. Very successful with reflection and prayer for the family. However, not enough for every child. Agreed to but some further sets for next year - LC Discussed Nativity and possible timing for 2009 – to be discussed further
