Summer Shutdown Checklist

Unplug ALL electrical devices possible, with the exception of network equipment:

 computer peripherals including monitors, printers, speakers, scanners;

 microwaves;

 televisions;

 computers;

LCD projectors;

 document cameras;

 music keyboards;

 radios/CD players;

 office equipment such as copiers and adding machines;

21st century audio system; DVDs/VCRs;

 clocks;

 chargers for walkies/phones that will not be in use daily.

Clearly label any equipment which must

NOT be unplugged/turned off and the reason why it must remain energized (leave on all network equipment and equipment in mechanical/electrical rooms).

Take home ALL personal appliances that may be in classrooms/offices that will not be in daily use.

Take home personally owned animals, including fish in aquariums 30 gallons and smaller. Science labs and school-owned animals are exempt. Remember that air conditioning will be reduced during the summer, so leaving animals may endanger their health.

Close blinds or other window coverings.

Turn off large refrigerators inside the unit, empty and defrost. Leave the door ajar.
