What are some of the key differences between cellular events in mitosis and meiosis?
Both processes begin in interphase, but the end products are quite different. Mitosis
produces a pair of genetically identical cells, whereas meiosis produces up to four
genetically different cells. At what phase in mitosis do sister chromatids separate? Do
they separate at Anaphase I or II? At what phase does chiasma formation occur? Are the
cells haploid after Meiosis I? After Meiosis II? How many divisions occur in mitosis? How
many in meiosis?
