Call for Entries
VSA arts of Texas
Eligibility and Media:
VSA arts of Texas invites all Texas artists with disabilities to submit artwork to “Vision. Strength. Access.
Arts for All”, an exhibition being held at the Arts District Business Center Gallery in McAllen, TX. 2D and
3D works in all media are eligible. 2D artwork may be no larger than 36” in any direction and 3D artwork
may be no larger than 21” in any direction. An entry fee of $5 per image is required.
Entries:
Please submit up to three (3) entries in the form of digital images on CD or by e-mail. The entry fee is $5
per image with a maximum of $15 for 3 images per artist. Make checks payable to VSA arts of Texas or
pay by cash or credit card. Credit card payments can be made online at http://shop.vsatx.org.
The postmark deadline for entries is July 25, 2008. Send entries to:

In order to have CDs returned send a self-addressed stamped envelope with the entry.
Jurors:
Artwork will be judged by staff of VSA arts of Texas. Artists will be notified about whether or not their
artwork has been accepted by August 22, 2008.
Delivery/Return of Artwork:
Accepted works are due to the VSA arts of Texas offices in Austin, TX by September 23, 2008. Artists
are required to pay for shipment of work to VSA. VSA arts of Texas will pay the return shipping costs.
Pack artwork in sturdy reusable cartons for travel to McAllen and return shipping.

Artwork can also be hand-delivered on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm at the
VSA arts of Texas office.
At the end of the exhibition, shipped artwork will be returned by November 14, 2008. Delivered artwork
can be picked up Friday, November 14, 2008 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm at VSA arts of Texas.
Exhibition:
The selected works will hang at The Arts District Business Center Gallery from October 1-31, 2008.
Artwork chosen must be available for the entire show.
Artist Reception:
An Artist Reception hosted by VSA arts of Texas will be held on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 7:00 pm. This
event will be held during the popular and well-attended First Friday Art Walk in McAllen.
Sales:
Artwork will be available for sale if you choose. The Arts District Business Center will retain a commission
of 35% of all sales made directly from the exhibition.
Terms:
 An entry to this exhibit constitutes full agreement on the part of the artist to all conditions outlined in
this call for entries.
 Work must be strongly framed and wired ready for hanging.
 No fragile or precious materials that cannot withstand normal handling and storage will be accepted.
 VSA arts of Texas will have final authority to define what constitutes an acceptable entry.
 The artist grants VSA arts of Texas permission to reproduce entries and photograph the exhibition for
the purposes of publicity.
 Every attempt will be made to preserve, secure and protect all artwork, but VSA arts of Texas and
The Arts District Business Center cannot be held responsible for damages or loss of artwork.
About the Organizers:
The Arts District Business Center is located right in the heart of the Arts District in McAllen. ADBC
brings non-competitive workshops and businesses all under the same roof.
VSA arts of Texas is a statewide non-profit arts organization promoting the creative power in people with
disabilities.
