Enfotec, a subsidiary of Fednav Limited, specializes in providing ice analysis and vessel routing
services for ships operating in ice-covered waters. The company also specializes in environmental
impact assessments and accessibility studies for ship operations through ice covered waters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:




Provide ice information and forecasts to vessels operating in ice-covered waters world-wide
Undertake the search, enhancement and analysis of satellite images of ice
Undertake sea ice studies on ice distribution that effects future operations in ice
Responsible for shipboard software and hardware installation, troubleshooting and training
The company will provide training on our operational procedures mentioned above.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:









Experience in the processing and analysis of remotely sensed satellite imagery
Knowledge of sea ice climatology and shipping an asset
Knowledge of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image processing and analysis
Must be willing to travel
Must be available to work outside of normal working hours
University degree in Geography, Geomatics or related discipline, post-graduate degree is an
asset OR equivalent work-related experience
Familiarity with Geographic Information systems is an asset
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
Fluency in English is essential and knowledge of French is an asset
Preference will be given to candidates with experience using one or more of the following software
packages:
 PCI Geomatica
 ERDAS Imagine
 ESRI ArcGIS
