In 2013 the increase amounted to 5% on the previous year, which means that Poland was visited by more than 300 000 Italian citizens. The Italians who visited Poland perceive Polish people as modern, progress oriented, friendly and open to the world. They point to a variable tourist offer (sea, mountains), numerous worthwhile tourist attractions, a possibility to practise sports and low prices, as well as the quality of services. There is, however, still a significant group of Italians who do not know much about Poland – only 28% of respondents surveyed answered that they knew „quite a lot" and „rather much" about Poland, while the other 28% were not quite positive that they knew anything about Poland. The fact that 65% of those surveyed imagined Poland as a country of tourist attractions (“definitely attractive” and “rather attractive”) should be regarded in positive terms. Asked about Polish regions and cities, the respondents pointed most often to Warsaw, Cracow and Gdańsk. All actions taken by Polish Tourism Organization in the scope of Poland’s promotion during EXPO Milano 2015 are implemented under the project „Let’s Promote Poland Together” of Measure 6.3. of the Operational Programme: Innovative Economy 2007-2013 "Promotion of Poland’s Tourist Assets”
