ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION The product is a high molecular, liquid polymer and is characterised by a very low vapour pressure. It can enter the atmosphere only as an ACROSOL. Investigations showed that polydimethly siloxane does not have Toxic effects on sludge organism. Tests showed that polydimethly siloxane containing sludge brought on agricultural soil did not give negative effects on ground organisms, earthworms and the following growth of plants. In the ground polydimethyl siloxane is decomposed into small silicone molecules abiotically. These small silicone molecules are decomposed biologically in the soil or evaporate from the soil and are decomposed in the atmosphere under the Page 3 of 4 influences of light. Under suitable conditions the following decomposition products are obtained. Carbondioxide, inorganic silicone, water vapour. The size of high molecular polydimethyl siloxane molecule prevents the absorption into or passage through biological membranes. Owing to the low water solubility of polydimethyl siloxane standard OECD procedures on testing biological degradation cannot be applied to this product. 13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS Dispose off in accordance with local regulations pass on to an appropriate incinerating plant or depository or recycling.
