One of these came upon Ned, near Nigh-Way Point & began to question him & he thinking they were Union soldiers, talked himself into trouble. They hanged him. This was where he was already living. He paid 50 pounds in Virginia money. In 1752 he bought another 100 acres. He sold all of the above land on May 16, 1766. By 1777 he was buying and selling property in Chatham County, North Carolina. He retained property there until his death in 1802.
