Intent to Participate/Contract
I agree and understand:
1. I certify that I have read the regulations governing the Miss Rodeo Okeechobee Pageant and that these
rules prevail over the pageant and throughout my reign. I hereby grant permission to Okeechobee County
Cattlemen’s Association to verify any information contained on my application. I will do everything possible
to carry out my duties as the reigning Queen. During my reign, I will be Okeechobee County’s official
representative of the sport of rodeo and will constantly be aware of those values of public relations between
the general public and those actively involved in pro rodeo; and of my responsibility and efforts to improve
the image of rodeo to all with whom I come in contact.
2. I understand that activities are subject to change and arise at the last minute; and any transportation to
these events is my responsibility. Public appearances other than the ones listed should not be solicited. If
someone requests your appearance it MUST be approved by the Okeechobee County Cattlemen
Association or the Miss Rodeo Okeechobee Coordinator, Michelle Harper. If the invitation is accepted, I will
make every effort to make the appearance.
3. I understand that the titles Miss Rodeo Okeechobee, Miss Teen Rodeo Okeechobee, Miss Rodeo
Okeechobee Princess, Miss Rodeo Okeechobee Sweetheart and MRO Miss Congeniality are the property
of Okeechobee County Cattlemen’s Association. I further understand that the Association is responsible for
all media submissions and that the individual titles shall not be used to create individual accounts on social
media sites. There is a Miss Rodeo Okeechobee Facebook page and shall be used by the title holders to
report activities and post photos and comments in a positive means to promote the MRO title holders and
the OCCA and their activities.
4. I hereby release title, claim and rights to photographs and/or public relations material involving me to the
Association. A professional photo will be taken by the photographer of my choice. I understand that this
photo image must be approved and available by March 1, 2016. You must provide a photo release on the
agreed upon photo and an electronic copy of your portrait to the Pageant Coordinator within this time frame.
5. I hereby release and hold Okeechobee County Cattlemen Associations, the officers, directors,
accredited sponsors both commercial and private, employees, agents, members and/or representatives of
each harmless from any and all rights, claims, and/or actions direct and/or indirect of whatsoever kind
and/or characters as shall now exist and/or hereafter arise from, and/or be the result of, my and/or persons
related to, my appearance and/or participation in the Miss Rodeo Okeechobee program, activities and/or
functions. I acknowledge that I am familiar with equestrian and rodeo sports and activities and that the
same are inherently dangerous to me and those related to my participation herein. I further acknowledge
that the Okeechobee County Cattlemen do not guarantee the safety and/or well being of any participant
and/or against harm to the participant and/or the conduct of any participant other than me. I acknowledge
that this release and indemnification is executed without specific knowledge of existing and/or future rights,
claims and/or actions, but executes the same notwithstanding such lack of knowledge, the risk thereof being
known by, and assumed by, the undersigned and found to be reasonable for my assumption.
6. I agree to the expectations attached to this document and will not run for another local, state, regional
title. If I break my contract, I understand that I lose my title and all of my awards (buckle, sash, crown, saddle
pad and halter) will be given back. I further understand that my reign commences on the date of the pageant
to February 2016 Pageant.
