Development of Temporality in a Child Bilingual (Chinese/English) The acquisition of temporality has drawn a lot of attention recently, but studies on languages like Chinese are still scarce. The present paper investigates the acquisition of temporality in Chinese, especially the acquisition of the particle LE by a bilingual (Chinese/English) child from age 2 to 2.5. Data was gathered through tape-recorded conversations between the child and the mother. Data analysis was done within the Aspect Hypothesis and Prototype Hypothesis framework and the influence of English in the development was discussed.
