A WARM WELCOME to all who have come
to worship our Creator and Lord. The Bible
instructs us to "Sing praises to the Lord... and give
thanks to his holy name" (Psalm 30:4). With
sincere gratitude let us praise God.

-FROM THE COUNCILNEXT SUNDAY OFFERING- A.M: Faith
Promise. P.M.: Church Operations.
COUNCIL NOTES - 1. There is interest in
purchasing Our Faith - which is a book to go with
our song book Lift Up Your Hearts. This would
place what we believe in the book racks. Your
input would be welcome. 2. Council approved a
framework or plan to employ a part-time interim
pastor and gave the Executive Committee power
to act to carry this out. 3. Suggestions or
volunteers are welcome as we will soon make
Elder and Deacon nominations. 4. Suggestions or
volunteers for members to serve on a Pastoral
Search Committee are welcome. 5. The Elders
approved eight weeks of Adult Sunday School to
be led by Dr. Minasian related to a review of the
book Autopsy of a Deceased Church. 6. Council
reviewed a plan of action and timeline for the next
four months.

-CHURCH FAMILYART LUCHIE is residing at Trillium Springs
now. He will celebrate his 94th birthday on
Tuesday, July 28!
PASTOR JIM, BETH & RACHAEL arrived
safely in California on Monday! They had
received their PODS on Wednesday and had
many hands to help them unload to make their
unpacking experience an easy one! They thank
you all for your prayers as they traveled and
transition to their new surroundings.

PROJECT PHILIP COMMITTEE will meet
on Monday, August 3, at 3:30 p.m. Volunteers,
please have your Bible count in Joyce's mailbox
by next Sunday, August 2.
SONG SERVICE LEADERS - We need
leaders beginning in August. There is a sign-up
sheet on the hallway cabinet for people that would
like to lead. Song Service is usually the 2nd & 4th
Sunday evenings of the month. Thank you to
those who lead!
TRACTOR TOUR is Saturday, August 1. You
need not sign up for the tour, but lunch
reservations should be made by Thursday. We
will eat back at church at conclusion of the tour.
Foods Resource Bank will benefit from donations
above the expenses for lunch. Sign the reservation
sheet for lunch or call 924-4730.
THE BIBLE LEAGUE VOLUNTEERS effort
of collecting NEW and USED books, DVD's,
CD's, cassettes and VHS's is an ongoing project.
A collection box is located under the coat rack
near the Council room or speak with Maxine
Luchies for more information. Thank you for your
donations.
NEWAYGO COUNTY MUSEUM - First CRC
has a display case exhibiting memorabilia over the
years. Our exhibit will be up from now until
December.
-REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTSCHRISTIAN REFORMED CONFERENCE
GROUNDS - Saturday, July 25 Tribute Quartet
will be in concert at the Christian Reformed
Conference Grounds in Grand Haven. Please join
us in welcoming this nationally known male
gospel quartet! The concert will begin at 7 pm;
no tickets are needed; however, a free will
offering will be taken to help defray the costs of
our music ministry. Come early and enjoy a
delicious Pig Roast Dinner served in the Sunshine

DRS Managed Reconstruction Sites Individuals and couples - Ocean County, New
Jersey (Hurricane Sandy, Oct 2012) - There are
MANY openings. Please help fill these slots. Aug
1—Aug 15, Aug 29—Sept 12, Oct 3—Oct 24.

This site is closed for the warm summer months,
but reopening this fall. Open dates include: Sept
19—Oct 10, Oct 10—Oct 31 , Nov 21—Dec 12.

up. New Volunteers: There is still time to take
advantage of the summer promotion: New
volunteers who serve their first assignment at a
DRS managed reconstruction site between June 1
and August 31, 2015, will be reimbursed

WORSHIP ON THE WATERFRONT Tonight, Worship On the Waterfront 2015
welcomes back, Josh Wilson to the Grand Haven
Waterfront Stadium from 7:30 – 8:45 p.m. This
artist, with a heart for God, writes catchy and
emotional songs, leads entertaining live shows
and has one-of-a-kind musical skills. This summer
Josh will be bringing his band. There is no cost,
nor any tickets needed to attend W.O.W. Check

SHARING HER MEMORIES FROM
MISSIONARY PARENTS, Jim & Elisabeth
Elliot, Valerie Elliot Shepard will be our featured
speaker at a retreat on September 10 at the
Friendship Christian Reformed Church in Byron
Center. Invite some friends, and send in your
registrations today to the retreat hosted by Bible
League International Volunteers. The deadline for
registering for the retreat is August 13. The day
will conclude with a wonderful banquet and great
concert by Captivating Keyboards. After first
performing together in 2005, these two men have
traveled around the world as concert pianists in
their own right. The banquet and evening concert
are open to all. You do not need to attend the
retreat to come for the evening, but reservations
are needed. See the brochures on the bulletin
boards for more information or talk to Shirley
Bunce.
VERA'S HOUSE in Newaygo, offers different
Self-Help
Classes
- VERA'S
HOUSE,
A Community Education and Wellness Center in
Newaygo, will be offering a 4 week self-help
class for people who struggle with Chronic Pain
from Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Bursitis, Lupus,
Lower Back Pain Syndromes and other pain
related issues. The segments will cover diseasespecific
information,
stress
management
strategies, medication use, exercise alternatives
and
coping
techniques.
The
course
format encourages active
participation
and
includes
lecture,
discussion and group
activities.
Participants in the course can
enjoy these significant long-tem benefits:
Improved knowledge of your disease and its
management, a reduced level of pain and
increased frequency of self-care behaviors such as
exercise and relaxation techniques.
This
Class will be led by Physical Therapist, Dr.Ethel
Lobrigas, and will be held on four consecutive
Fridays: August 7, 14, 21, 28 from 3:00pm4:00pm.
Anger Management Group at Vera's House,
Clients learn how to identify internal and external
triggers that relate to anger, to self regulate
feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and to
implement relaxation strategies. Clients also learn
conflict resolution skills & communication skills.
