Clovis Classic Girls Varsity Basketball 2008 Tournament
Greetings to all participants in the 2008 Clovis Classic Girls Varsity Basketball Tournament.
Clovis High officially welcomes Caruthers, Edison, Fresno Christian, Kings Christian, Lemoore,
Madera South, and Sunnyside.
The tournament will be organized into two pools with each pool consisting of four teams.
Each team will play each other in pool play which will account for three games. Then, depending
upon the standings after pool play, the teams will be seeded 1-4 in each division. In case of ties
within pool play, the first tiebreaker will be head-to-head results. The second tiebreaker will be point
differential up to 15. The final tiebreaker will be points allowed. Then, seeded teams 1 and 2 from
each pool will be placed in the Gold bracket and seeded teams 3 and 4 will be placed in the Silver
bracket.
The bracket play will afford teams 2 more games to play. This will guarantee 5 games for
each team and will determine the final standings of the tournament. **Please note that there is a
chance that 2 teams could possibly play each other twice depending on how the bracket play goes.
The two teams from the championship game will receive a team trophy plus individual plaques for
each team member. Team trophies will be awarded to the remaining finishers. All tournament
selections and an overall MVP will also be awarded upon completion of the tournament.
The games will be played in the Clovis High School main gym (south gym). The games will be
played under CIF rules and the games will be officiated by CIF officials.
A snack bar will be available and restroom facilities will be open. However, the Clovis High locker
room will not be available for the players.
I will need coaches’ contact numbers and any entry fees from those who have not yet paid.
