BOSCH FLEXIDOME XF CAMERA SERIES VDC-485V
A.
The product specified shall be a vandal/tamper resistant, 540 TVL resolution color
dome camera designed for indoor/outdoor applications using a 1/3-inch format CCD
imager. The unit is prepackaged in a cast aluminum housing with a heater, a clear
polycarbonate dome bubble, and a hardened inner liner. The dome bubble is
supplied with a UV blocking anti-scratch coating. The unit is capable of withstanding
the equivalent of 120 lbs (55 kg) of force. The camera is protected against water
and dust to NEMA-4X (IP66) standards. The dome camera comes complete with
one of the following automatic iris, integral, varifocal lenses, as required by the
application, to allow manual zoom and focus adjustment:
1. 3.0 to 9.5 mm, F1.0-360, varifocal lens.
2. 3.7 to 12.0 mm, F1.6-360 varifocal lens.
3. 9.0 to 22.0 mm, F1.4-360, varifocal lens.

B.
The product specified shall be a high performance color dome camera designed to
be vandal/tamper resistant and capable of withstanding the equivalent of 120 lbs (55
kg) of force. The unit shall be prepackaged in a cast aluminum housing with a
heater, polycarbonate dome bubble, hardened inner liner, and an aluminum trim
ring. The dome bubble shall be a clear, polycarbonate material with a UV blocking
anti-scratch coating.
C. The dome camera specified shall protect the camera against water and dust to
Nema-4X (IP66) standards
D. The dome camera shall contain a heater that allows the dome camera to operate at
temperatures between -50°C to +50°C (-58°F to +122°F).
E.
The dome camera shall be designed for indoor/outdoor applications using a 1/3-inch
format CCD imager providing 540 TVL of horizontal resolution.
F.
The dome camera specified shall incorporate [Bosch] 15-bit digital signal processing
and XF-dynamic to provide a 32X extended dynamic range to maximize picture
performance and sensitivity under all lighting conditions. The camera shall produce
color video pictures during normal lighting conditions, but will automatically switch to
a monochrome mode (Bosch NightSense feature) to produce quality black and
white video images when lighting falls below levels required to adequately produce
color images.
G. The dome camera specified shall be equipped with a coaxial communications
transceiver that incorporates a technology [Bosch Bilinx] to allow the camera to be
setup and the firmware to be updated remotely via the coaxial cable using bidirectional communication. The manufacturer shall offer optional configuration
software [Bosch VP-CFGSFT] that operates in conjunction with the bi-directional
communication technology for adjustment of the camera from the head-end side of
the coaxial cable.
H. The specified color dome camera shall have Auto black circuitry to ensure maximum
contrast under low contrast scene conditions. This function shall be on/off
selectable.
I.
The camera shall provide a 16-character programmable camera ID. The position of
the camera ID on the camera’s video shall be selectable.
J.
The camera shall provide a built-in, four (4) area video motion detector with
selectable sensitivity.
K.
The manufacturer of the dome camera shall offer models for use in NTSC (60 Hz) or
PAL (50 Hz) CCTV color systems. The cameras shall operate within the voltage
range of 10.8 to 39 VDC or 12 to 28 VAC, 45-65Hz and require no more than 6
watts of power when the heater is operational.

L.
The camera shall have line-lock capability when powered by AC to synchronize the
camera to the power line zero crossing for roll-free vertical interval switching. For
vertical synchronization in multiphase power installations, the camera shall provide
0 to 358° of continuously adjustable vertical phase delay. Crystal-lock shall be
selected when DC voltage is supplied or the line-lock function is switched off.
M. The manufacturer of the specified dome camera shall offer a BNC to UTP
(unshielded twisted pair) adapter as an optional accessory to allow connection to a
UTP transmitter.
N. The camera setups and adjustments shall be made using an on-screen display in
conjunction with push button keys. A miniature 2.5 mm jack socket provides a
composite video output at the camera to allow connection of a CCTV video monitor
to be used for camera setup. An optional cable [Bosch S1460] shall be available
from the camera manufacturer for making this connection to a setup monitor.
O. The manufacturer of the specified dome camera shall provide an adjustment cap for
the lens to be used during setup to ensure that the image sharpness (focus) and the
field of view remain the same when the setup is complete and the dome bubble is
installed.
P.
Color Dome Camera Components:

Q. Mounting and Viewing Adjustment Requirements
1. The manufacturer of the specified color dome camera shall provide optional
hardware to allow the camera to be surface mounted, wall mounted, interior
corner mounted, pendant pipe mounted, and suspended ceiling mounted. The
camera shall be designed to be mounted to a standard 4S electrical box.
2. The dome camera shall provide cable entry via a side conduit opening or
through mounting surface cutouts.
3. The camera viewing position shall be adjustable along three (axes) providing an
adjustment range of 360° pan, 90° tilt, and ±90° azimuth.
