Terms & Conditions
The Energy Saving Trust will provide fuel efficient driving training of approximately 50 minutes
per employee at a location convenient to you. The Energy Saving Trust will also provide cars,
insurance and fuel for those training and a certificate for each trainee. This application is for
Scotland only – for England please contact smarterdriving@est.org.uk.
Completed training is fully subsided by Transport Scotland so there is no cost to your
organisation for this training. Each instructor can train 8 people per day so for ‘number of places’
overleaf, please book a multiple of 8. The minimum requirement is one day / 8 places.
All training must be completed by 31 March 2016.
The cost of the training is fully subsidised by Transport Scotland and is provided on the basis
that you ensure 8 trainees are available for each day of training, at the agreed locations and
times. If less than 6 trainees complete the training on the day, the training will be charged at
the full day rate of £80 (+VAT) to cover the cost of the instructor/s.
Your booking will be approved once the Energy Saving Trust receives this completed
application form. Training dates will be confirmed once your booking has been approved.
If the training is cancelled with fewer than 10 working days’ notice, there will be a cancellation
fee of £80 + VAT per day to cover the cost of the instructor/s.
Energy Saving Trust provides fully comprehensive insurance for the vehicles used for the
training, but your company / organisation is liable for the policy excess, which is £500 per
incident / claim (for repairs costing less than £500 your company will only be charged the actual
cost of the repair).
All drivers will be required to show both parts of their driving licences on the day of
training. Some driving licence endorsements will preclude drivers from the training.
Drivesense, our delivery partner, will send you a list of these endorsements before your training
takes place. You remain responsible for your drivers’ reasonable behaviour during their
training and unreasonable behaviour may result in drivers being precluded from training and for
the cost of any damage being charged to your organisation.
