The spelling of the /k/ sound
Spelling Tip: The sound /k/ can be made three different ways. ck, c, or k
Last week we learned that ck is only found at the end of a word. It also can only come
right after to a short vowel.
We use a k at the end of a word if the letter beside it is not a vowel.
C makes the /k/ sound almost always at the beginning of words.
K is almost always used in the beginning of words when it is before an e, i, or y.
