In a UNESCO World Heritage Site,
preserved with the love for art and
culture, which reveals itself in its
ancient as well as its contemporary
beauty.
Sunbathing on a long stretch of fine sand, ideal
for relaxing with friends or family, for practicing
sports or playing on the beach, pampered by
great food, music and hospitality
In nature, where large stretches, lagoons, forests,
waterways and farmlands design a mosaic to be
lived slowly, by bike or by boat, equipped with
binoculars and a desire for adventure
Good food and traditions, from the sea to the
Delta, to the countryside, in a thousand restaurants,
festivals and folklore events where Renaissance
cuisine mingles with the flavours of the
countryside, in order to discover the taste of the
most authentic tradition.
THE POMPOSA ABBEY
Between the green plains and the sea, the
thousand-year old bell tower stands as a
lookout; in the Abbey with its pure Romanesque
lines, the geometry of the mosaic marble floor
and the colors of the frescoes of the Giotto school
chase each other like the seven notes on the staff,
which was invented here!
THE BEACHES OF THE
LIDI DI COMACCHIO
A sea for everyone: a slow sloping of very fine
sand, ideal for castles adorned with shells; peace,
talk, reading, listening to music whilst having
drinks nestled by the sea. A complete spectrum of
sports 24 hours non-stop. Shopping, rickshaws,
cocktails and pop or house music, it’s up to you!!
ON A BATANA UNDER
THE TREPPONTI OF
COMACCHIO
In the daytime bustle of the local market
or in the silence of the night, on a small
flat-bottomed boat, the batana, a senior
pilot, with the musical accent of Comacchio,
will reveal to you the secrets of every canal,
bridge, building or town square of the capital
of the Po Delta and the kingdom of the eel.
THE VALLI DI COMACCHIO
BY BOAT, BY BICYCLE
OR ON FOOT
The men used to leave for their fishing trips in
the lagoon and the women remained at home
in the village, a hierarchical system of control
that used to reign in their ancient stone
houses: the great chimneys, the writing desks,
the nets, the bolaghe – eel baskets... an old
photo album to browse, the tale of history and
nature, between eels and pink flamingos.
THE 17 “PEARLS”
OF GASTRONOMY
IGP (Protected Geographical Indication),
DOP (Protected Designation of Origin), DOC
(Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of
Origin) products, recognized, certified, quality
guaranteed and especially good, the tastiest way
to discover a country, to savour the sweetness
and flavour, delicacy and roundness, its soft
or angular and crunchy strength.
BIRDWATCHING
IN THE PO DELTA PARK
More than 370 species live here or spend
their “holidays” here, to recognize them one
just needs a good guide, binoculars and
the patience that preludes every discovery,
and behold the wonder of their flight.... the
beating of wings in the sky, a beak, yellow
or black. Few details in order to recognize
it... and you will be amazed!
WHERE CAN YOU IMAGINE A COASTLINE
FRAMED BY A NATURAL PARK
RECOGNIZED BY THE UNESCO
WORLD HERITAGE? WHERE MAY YOU
FIND A LARGE AND WELL EQUIPPED
BEACH IN FRONT OF A EUROPEAN
BLUE FLAG SEA?
And moreover, how many seaside resorts
are located so close to three UNESCO World
Heritage art centres such as Ferrara, Ravenna
and Venice?
The answer is one only: the Lidi di
Comacchio, surrounded by the Po Delta
Park. 23 km of fine golden sand, ideal
for family holidays, entertainment, sports
activities, relaxation and wellness for all.
Each Lido has its own identity; we’ll start
from the north and discover the character of
each by flipping through the holiday album.
