Training It was agreed to take Weighing ED Patients off the Agenda. SA advised that a few members of the Grampian team attended the FBT Training and that himself and another colleague had been granted funding to attend the upcoming CFT Training. Would like to take part in Schema Therapy Training but that it is difficult to source and fund. RS advised that half of their team were lucky enough to attend the FBT Training and have funding secured for 2 people to attend the CFT Training. A discussion took place regarding the difficulty in obtaining funding to attend these training courses and the fact that most people had to pay their own travel expenses and accommodation costs to attend the FBT Training. YE advised that Managers in Highland are very supportive of their training needs and they don’t usually have any problems in 1 securing funding for the courses they wish to attend. Highland had 3 nurse therapists attend the FBT Training. YE & Laura Hulse are attending the Radically Open DBT Workshop within the next couple of weeks. Anne Fraser is hoping to be able to submit her EEATS Accreditation by the end of the month and all staff should be EEATS Accredited by the end of the year. YE is to send SA/LK YE teaching for rest of the year. Discussion took place regarding opening up all trainings across the region using VC. PCollin advised that they had 4 members of their team attend the FBT Training and have funding secured for 2 people to attend the CFT Training, 1 for the Introductory Workshop and 1 for the Advanced Workshop. Louise Richards is also doing the DBT Training and Kareen Taylor did training up in Aberdeen at the beginning of the year on weighing patients. Tayside team also had 5 clinicians attending the Scottish Government Conference and also find that funding is quite easily available for any training they wish to undertake through the psychology training budget. Some members are taking part in Schema-focused Therapy Training which SA may be able to access and they have four dates set up for in-house training. PM advised that they also find it difficult to secure funding for training. They had 5 members of staff attend the FBT Training but also had to pay their own travel and accommodation costs. They had 4 people attending the Scottish Government Conference. Angie did CRT training and hoping that Lesley Pillans can undertake this training this year too. Grampian currently have 1 member of staff undertaking the EEATS Accreditation, Tayside currently don’t have any and Eden have 3 people accredited. Educational Meetings SA is still working on a programme for this. LK to set up bridge links for any suitable training CFT Training is coming up in May & June. No Aberdeen or National Conference planned as yet. It was decided that the MCN Annual Clinical Event would take place on Thursday 20th November and Paula Collin suggested Perth Royal Infirmary or Murray Royal Hospital as a possible venue. PCollin is to investigate booking the venue. The topic for the Event will be “Treatment Resistant Anorexia”. James Lock is coming back to Scotland in early September and it was suggested to hold a review day and invite Management to come along. 2 5 Service Developments (by Region) Highland Had a service away day in January which was very successful and are focusing on how they can Anne Fraser talked about the new Highland Support Group “HEaDSUP” which is launching on 1st May. Currently have a full complement of clinical staff but Secretary has been on sick leave since December and this is causing huge problems. Gill Hasson is back with the Service one day a week on secondment. Still averaging around 100 referrals per year and managing to see urgent patients within a week and other patients within a month. Tayside No new staffing changes. Still without a Secretary but getting some cover on a part-time basis. Meeting with management fell through but this has been re-scheduled for 1st April. Averaging around 100 referrals per year and managing to see patients within the 12 week target. Running a Nutrition Education Group and a Bulimia Group. Have a Medical Student who is developing a Carer Satisfaction Questionnaire. Kareen Taylor & Paula Collin are still in talks with a colleague in Hong Kong regarding piloting some new software – “Smart Eating Programme” Grampian Currently averaging around 250 referrals per year and managing to meet HEAT target. Dealing with a lot of complex patients. Sally Hill, Nurse Therapist is retiring in the summer. ½ time Occupational Therapist post still vacant and PCrockett is to chase up this being advertised. Speciality Doctor post still vacant. Team Secretary Rona Ligertwood is retiring at the end of March. Have a Clinical Psychology Trainee starting. Currently developing Steps to Change Group and hoping to start a CFT Group. Also running a Contemplation Group and Binge Eaters Group. Hope to also run an MBT Group. Currently have 9 people on the waiting list for Individual Therapy. YPD 1400 referrals per year to generic CAMHS with around 50 per year for Eating Disorders. 3 Still very busy and extremely under staffed. Building links with Tier 4 Network to forge better links with other services. Developing draft Junior MARSIPAN Pathway. Presented at the Scottish Parliament. Looking at FBT work. JM advised that Becky McKay from Gastroenterology will be leaving in the near future and that she will be a huge loss and very greatly missed. 6 The Eden Unit Bed Availability YE asked whether they could have improved information on bed availability which would help when planning admissions. How can we facilitate this? It was agreed to carry this over to the Agenda for the next AS Eden Unit Review Group meeting in May. 7 Referral Guidelines Carry forward to next meeting. It was agreed to move Further Development of Care Pathways across regions to the Quality Assurance Sub Group meeting. 8 Audit and Quality Assurance Quality Assurance Sub Group SA advised that the Grampian team have adopted the Tayside model in getting the Patient Satisfaction Questionnaires sent out. The next Quality Assurance meeting is on 22nd April at 10:30am. Morbidity & Mortality Reviews Recent M&M day was very helpful and the report is yet to be sent YE out.
