Updates
Representation
LK is to invite Stonehaven GP’s to attend future meetings and will LK
also send an invitation to Ann Gold.
Training
It was agreed to take Weighing ED Patients off the Agenda.
SA advised that a few members of the Grampian team attended
the FBT Training and that himself and another colleague had been
granted funding to attend the upcoming CFT Training. Would like
to take part in Schema Therapy Training but that it is difficult to
source and fund.
RS advised that half of their team were lucky enough to attend the
FBT Training and have funding secured for 2 people to attend the
CFT Training. A discussion took place regarding the difficulty in
obtaining funding to attend these training courses and the fact that
most people had to pay their own travel expenses and
accommodation costs to attend the FBT Training.
YE advised that Managers in Highland are very supportive of their
training needs and they don’t usually have any problems in
1
securing funding for the courses they wish to attend. Highland
had 3 nurse therapists attend the FBT Training. YE & Laura Hulse
are attending the Radically Open DBT Workshop within the next
couple of weeks. Anne Fraser is hoping to be able to submit her
EEATS Accreditation by the end of the month and all staff should
be EEATS Accredited by the end of the year. YE is to send SA/LK YE
teaching for rest of the year. Discussion took place regarding
opening up all trainings across the region using VC.
PCollin advised that they had 4 members of their team attend the
FBT Training and have funding secured for 2 people to attend the
CFT Training, 1 for the Introductory Workshop and 1 for the
Advanced Workshop. Louise Richards is also doing the DBT
Training and Kareen Taylor did training up in Aberdeen at the
beginning of the year on weighing patients. Tayside team also
had 5 clinicians attending the Scottish Government Conference
and also find that funding is quite easily available for any training
they wish to undertake through the psychology training budget.
Some members are taking part in Schema-focused Therapy
Training which SA may be able to access and they have four
dates set up for in-house training.
PM advised that they also find it difficult to secure funding for
training. They had 5 members of staff attend the FBT Training but
also had to pay their own travel and accommodation costs. They
had 4 people attending the Scottish Government Conference.
Angie did CRT training and hoping that Lesley Pillans can
undertake this training this year too.
Grampian currently have 1 member of staff undertaking the
EEATS Accreditation, Tayside currently don’t have any and Eden
have 3 people accredited.
