Thus, I was invited by Judge Ludlow as a guest speaker to the Ipswich Family Court annual conference in May 2007 to deliver a talk on ‘the effects of parental substance misuse on rearing practices and child development’. Previous Work Experience: Consultant in General Adult and Rehabilitation (PICU & Low Secure Services) Psychiatry at Cawston Park Hospital between July 2007 to February 2009: Cawston Park Hospital is a specialist hospital in Norfolk for people with complex mental illnesses such as Dual Diagnosis (mental illness and substance misuse disorders), Substance Misuse, Psychotic Disorders, Bi-polar Affective Disorders, Personality Disorders, Severe Depression and Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The patients are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 because of their mental disorder and the risk they pose to either themselves or to the public or both. Also, I was a visiting Consultant Psychiatrist at the following: a. The Priory Hospital Chelmsford (December 2006 to March 2009): I had visiting and admission rights to the hospital. b. Focus12 (August 2007 to March 2009): I undertook one weekly session to work as a Consultant Psychiatrist with Focus12 in Bury St Edmunds. Focus12 is community-based drug and alcohol rehabilitation service based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. c. The Clifton Clinic between December 2007 and March 2009: I was the visiting Consultant Psychiatrist to the Clifton Clinic. The Clifton Clinic is a private residential rehabilitation clinic based in Shefford, Bedfordshire. Previous experiences: 1. Consultant Psychiatrist in Substance Misuse and Lead Clinician to Suffolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust Substance Misuse Services from 29th December 2005 to August 2007 as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Substance Misuse. The post involved a number of roles: i. Clinical role as lead clinician for the substance misuse service, and to provide advice on the management of substance misuses with complex needs, and diagnosis and management of patients with substance misuse problems and mental illness. From January 2007, I dedicated 4 clinical sessions as a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatrist to the Haverhill Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).
