At NewVIc we strongly believe in team working and see this as one of the reasons for our success. The senior infrastructure engineer will assist the network manager and IT supervisor in ensuring that: IT support requests are effectively prioritised and promptly and efficiently resolved in accordance with the network team’s SLAs Planned maintenance, upgrades and backups are carried out in a timely and complete manner and in accordance with the teams’ SLAs and change control procedures so as to minimise the amount of system ‘down time’ Take a proactive, hand-on role in the resolution of second and third level support calls Assist the IT manager in the planning and implementation of new and enhanced IT services, including telephony Financial: Other: Assist the IT manager in ensuring that the IT team works within agreed budgets and operating expenses and budgets for capital projects Assist the IT manager in the specification, pricing and negotiation of all IT Projects to ensure that acquisitions are, in every case, fit for purpose and best value for money Assist the IT manager in setting an annual budget covering the full scope of IT and telephony services to the college Maintain a high level of awareness of new IT products and processes and make recommendations for their deployment at the college Assist the IT manager in ensuring a robust, effective and tested IT business continuity and disaster recovery plan Participate in the college-wide IT group 3 General: These additional responsibilities apply to all NewVIc staff. 1.
