Transitions
In the last Fernley Estates
Newsletter, Bill Holliday
informed all of us that he
would be retiring and
moving back to Montana to
be with his family. Late July and early August the Leadership
team had been going through several changes.
Adrianne has been chosen as Fernley Estates’ Designated
Manager. Adrianne has been with the community since before
our first residents moved in. He was the Director of Life
Enrichment and provided activities for our residents. Now,
Adrianne is going through the process of getting his license to
be this community’s Administrator. He will be collaboratively
working with his team and others to continually make Fernley
Estates a fun and safe home for the residents.
Donna Charcho comes to Fernley Estates with over 40 years
experience as being a Registered Nurse. Donna grew up in
Santa Cruz, California. She has two daughters, and one son.
She also has nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She will be taking over the Wellness Department. Her door is
always open, so you can ask questions and get to know one
another.
Debra Sorenson is our new Director of Life Enrichment. She
will be working closely with Adrianne so that we can provide
fun and entertaining activities for all of our residents. Please
make sure you look at the activities calendars for any
upcoming events!
Girette Barnes will be transitioning out of her current role as
our Director of Sales and Marketing. She will still be part of our
family, only as the Nurse Trainer for all of the Mission Senior
Living communities. Nursing is Girette’s passion and she
wants to share the knowledge that she has and continue to
provide the excellent services that our residents deserve.
We are all very excited for the changes in our community. We
believe that the care for our residents come first and foremost.
If you have any questions please feel free to talk to us, we
want our residents and family members to be kept up-to-date
with everything that happens here at Fernley Estates.

Pizza Party for the Residents
Crocheting Group
About three weeks ago I was approached
by Amanda (a caregiver) wanting to
throw the residents in Memory Care a
pizza party. I told her that would be a
wonderful activity for the residents to do.
She wanted to pay for everything herself,
but I informed her that we can come up
with a different solution. I talked to the
Pizza Factory here in Fernley and they
donated the dough balls and sauce along
with a few toppings.
With Amanda spear heading this activity,
we worked with the residents in Memory
Care to teach them to make their own
pizzas, salad and cinnamon twists. The
buzz was great back there and they
seemed to have a great time. A couple of
residents even tried to throw the dough in
the air like they had seen in a movie.
Loved it! When we brought the pizzas
back from the kitchen they all lit up
because they took ownership of their own
creations.
Thank you Amanda for the great vision
and selflessness for wanting and doing
something extra for our residents!
