September 2015 Pizza Party for the Residents Crocheting Group About three weeks ago I was approached by Amanda (a caregiver) wanting to throw the residents in Memory Care a pizza party. I told her that would be a wonderful activity for the residents to do. She wanted to pay for everything herself, but I informed her that we can come up with a different solution. I talked to the Pizza Factory here in Fernley and they donated the dough balls and sauce along with a few toppings. With Amanda spear heading this activity, we worked with the residents in Memory Care to teach them to make their own pizzas, salad and cinnamon twists. The buzz was great back there and they seemed to have a great time. A couple of residents even tried to throw the dough in the air like they had seen in a movie. Loved it! When we brought the pizzas back from the kitchen they all lit up because they took ownership of their own creations. Thank you Amanda for the great vision and selflessness for wanting and doing something extra for our residents!
