Dates and deadlines for Funding submissions: Scholarships &
Fellowships:
Used to provide salary support for medically qualified or science qualified researchers at
different stages of their careers
W & B Miller Postgraduate Scholarship
Closing date for applications is October 1st each year.
An original containing signatures and 14 copies are required. In addition, please submit
an electronic copy of the form to research@neurological.org.nz. Details of subjects
studied and grades obtained to date should be attached to the application form.
Postgraduate
Scholarships are personal awards and emphasis will be placed on the candidate and their
potential to develop during the period of the scholarship.
Philip Wrightson Postdoctoral Fellowship
Closing date for applications is October 1st each year and should be made on the
Foundation's application form NF08.
The signed original plus 14 copies are required. In addition, please submit an
electronic copy of the form to: research@neurological.org.nz.
Applicants are advised of the outcome of their application early in December.
VJ Chapman Research Fellowship
Closing date is May 1st each year.
The signed original plus 14 copies of the application are required. In addition, please
submit an electronic copy of the form to research@neurological.org.nz.
Intending applicants should make themselves known to the Foundation well before this
date, so that details of the application can be discussed.
Repartriation Fellowship
Closing date is April 1st each year.
The signed original plus 14 copies of the application are required. In addition, please
submit an electronic copy of the form to research@neurological.org.nz .
Senior Clinical Research Fellowship
The Foundation will make it known from time-to-time, through Hospital and University
Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery, and through the Neurological Association of
New Zealand, that it is in a position to appoint a Senior Clinical Research Fellow.
Closing dates would normally be April 1st and September 1st
Applications should be made using the form NF/06
An original containing signatures plus 14 copies are required. In addition, please submit
an electronic copy of the form to research@neurological.org.nz.
Summer Studentships
Proposals for research topics are required by 5pm 1st September (or the following
Monday if the 1st falls on a weekend) and should be submitted directly to the Neurological
Foundation. Applicants should first obtain any necessary institutional administrative
approval. An original application plus 6 copies are required. In addition, please submit an
electronic copy of the form to research@neurological.org.nz.
Supervisors and students will be advised of the outcomes by the end of September.
Project Grants:
Projects
Closing dates for applications are normally April 1st and September 1st.
12 copies of the application are required . Only one of these need contain the Referee
Nominations, Confidentiality, Ethical and Administrative Agreements (Sections 8 through
11). In addition please submit an electronic copy of the Word form, with the Excel
budget sheet included in the document, to research@neurological.org.nz. This is essential,
as applications will be converted and sent to reviewers as secured PDF files.
Small projects
Closing dates of April 1st and September 1st.
Application must be made on the Foundation's form, and 14 copies together with the
formal approval must be sent to the Foundation. In addition please submit an electronic
copy of the form to research@neurological.org.nz.
Travel Grants:
Closing dates are March 1st, June 1st, and November 1st.
Applications must be made on the " NF Travel Application July 2001 (NF05)" which can be
obtained from the Foundation. The original plus 14 copies of the application are
required. In addition please submit an electronic copy of the form to
research@neurological.org.nz. Electronic application forms (in MS Word) can be obtained
from the Secretary of the Foundation or from University Web sites.
