NOUN/VERB/ADJECTIVE/ADVERB MINI-BOOK Materials: 5 Sentence strips cut into 4 blocks. Directions: 1. Have the students write the subject of a sentence in the second box of the grid. 2. Have students write an adjective in the first box to describe the subject. 3. Have them write a present tense verb in the third box. 4. Have them write an adverb in the fourth box. A happy kangaroo walks quickly. Have students write similar sentences in the next 4 blocks. Tell students to stack the strips and staple them at the top to create a mini-book. Have them cut along the solid lines between each section, but not all the way to the stapled edge. Let students flip the adjective, nouns, verb, and adverb sections to create silly new sentences. Have students read their sentences to the class.
