Mapping Tool: DisabilityCare Australia List of Supports and Department of Human

Services Activities – June 2013

The purpose of this document is to map the DisabilityCare Australia (DisabilityCare) List of

Supports with the Department of Human Services (department) activities that are in scope of

Registration under the Disability Act 2006 .

Registration is only required when:

1. the DisabilityCare List of Supports has an equivalent Department of Human Services activity; and

2. the DisabilityCare service provider is a disability service provider within the definition of the Disability Act, i.e. providing services only to people with a disability.

Detail regarding DisabilityCare List of Supports is available from the DisabilityCare website at:

<http://www.disabilitycareaustralia.gov.au>

At its discretion, the department may change the activities that require registration under the

Disability Act and the mapping tool will be updated as required. The department’s Policies, procedures and forms for the registration of disability service providers registered/registering with DisabilityCare Australia lists the activities requiring registration under the Disability Act and is available from the departments website at: <http://www.dhs.vic.gov.au/about-thedepartment/documents-and-resources/policies,-guidelines-and-legislation/department-ofhuman-services-standards>. The department’s Policy and Funding Plan provides detail regarding the activities and is available from the department’s website at:

<http://www.dhs.vic.gov.au/about-the-department/plans,-programs-and-projects/plans-andstrategies/key-plans-and-strategies/department-of-human-services-policy-and-funding-plan-

2012-2015>.

The activities are mapped in the table on the following pages.
