The club and player acknowledge that this contract has been entered into in good faith. The contract
shall commence on the date of signing by both parties and shall terminate on the 31st day of October in
the final year referred to above (“the end date”). If either party wishes to terminate the contract prior to
the end date, then that party must give at least 14 days written notice. The player shall only be entitled to
the base salary until the notice period expires.

PLAYER OBLIGATIONS
Attend all training sessions and team meetings of the Club, except where the player has a valid
excuse which has been approved by the Senior Coach or in his absence, the President prior to
the session or meeting.

2016 NFL STANDARD PLAYERS CONTRACT
Obey all reasonable directions of the Senior Coach, President, and Secretary of the Club.
Play in all football matches in which he is selected to play or as otherwise directed by the Club
unless a duly qualified Medical Practitioner rules him unfit to play.
Comply with all reasonable requirements of the Club relating to preparation for matches,
attendance at social functions, behaviour and dress. These requirements may be amended by
the club and the player will be advised of the same in advance.
Not play or train for Australian Rules Football with any other Club or team (save for a Victorian
representative team or League representative team) without first obtaining the consent in writing
of the Club.
To train, etc and do all that is reasonable and necessary to obtain and maintain the best possible
physical condition so as to render the most efficient service to the Club. To submit from time to
time, as and when required by the Club to a complete a thorough medical fitness test and
examination, by an approved medical practitioner as retained by the club.
Maintain membership of recognised hospital and medical benefits fund which provides hospital,
medical and dental benefits coverage.
Maintain annual ambulance subscription.
Not engage in any dangerous activities during the season or during preseason training which
may affect the Player's ability to perform his obligations under this agreement, without first
obtaining the consent in writing of the Club.
During league matches, wear only such items of playing apparel as may be approved of or
prescribed by the League and to the extent the same are not inconsistent therewith, the Club.
Not comment on a matter publicly, and in any forum which the Club has notified the Player is a
matter upon which Players of the Club are not to comment publicly.
PLAYER BOUND TO RULES
The Player hereby agrees with the Club that he is bound by:(a)
the Rules and Regulations of the Club, (a copy of which has been produced to him of the
time of signing this agreement);
(b)
the Rules and Regulations of the Northern Football League (including requirements of
players and clubs regarding registration); a copy of which has been provided to him at the
time of signing this agreement; and
(c)
the Rules and Regulations of AFL Victoria Ltd,
including any modifications thereof made from time to time (“together the Rules”).
The Player hereby acknowledges the Rules restrict the freedom of the player to transfer from one
Club to another without first obtaining consent of the League, but agrees such Rules are
necessary and reasonable for the purpose of:(a)
achieving an even and well-matched competition;
(b)
ensuring the competition is organised and administered to benefit the Clubs, League and
Players;
(c)
encouraging Clubs to support junior development of Players to ensure the future of the
competition;
(d)
protecting and promoting the game of Australian Rules Football; and
(e)
protecting the interests of the League, Clubs and Players.
DISPUTE
In the event of a dispute arising between the parties during the term of this Contract or following
the termination hereof:
If the matter cannot be resolved by the Club and player, the matter will be referred for
determination to the full board of the Northern Football League, who will then decide the dispute.
A request for determination by an aggrieved party shall be made in writing to the other party, and
shall contain a precise statement of the issue in dispute and all relevant facts giving rise to the
dispute.
The League will adjudicate upon any dispute in accordance with its rules in force at the time of
the dispute, and will notify both parties in writing.

The Club, if the Player is in breach of any of his obligations hereunder, and the breach continues
for a period of 14 days after notice in writing by the Club to the Player requiring the breach to be
remedied has been given.

The Player immediately, by notice in writing given to the Club, upon his name being included, in
accordance with the Rules of the Australian Football League (“the AFL”), on the official list of
players of any team competing in the AFL competition.
The Northern Football League upon written notice by the Club or the player of a breach by the

PLAYER MOVEMENT WITHIN THE NFL
The Player will remain contracted to the Club until the expiration of this Contract.
It is noted, and agreed to, by all parties to this Contract, that if a Player wishes to play for another
Club in the Northern Football League, and receives clearance by the Northern Football League to
play in another Club, then upon 7 days after receiving clearance by the Northern Football League
to play in another Club, this Contract will be at an end.
During the period in which the Player is waiting for a clearance, he is still obligated to play for the
Club and will still be paid according to the agreement in this Contract.
PLAYER MOVEMENT TO VFL/AFL
The Player will remain contracted to the Club until the expiration of this Contract.
It is noted, and agreed to, by all parties to this Contract, any VFL and/or AFL contract the player
enters into, will take precedence over this Contract and the rules and regulations of the AFL or
VFL must be adhered to.
Pursuant to clause 4.3 above, this Contract will be immediately terminated if the Player is
included on the official list in the AFL competition.
The Player will still be bound by terms of this Contract even if he has been included on the official
list of any team competing in the VFL (“Victorian Football League”) competition.
WAIVER
A waiver by any party of any of the terms and conditions of this Contract in any one case shall
not be deemed or construed to be a waiver of such term or condition for the future or for any
other or subsequent breach unless the breach is severe enough to warrant termination of the
Contract, in accordance with the terms as set at herein.
A waiver or consent given by a party under this Contract is effective and binding on that party if it
is given or confirmed in writing by that party.
JURISDICTION
The regulations and by laws of the Northern Football League take precedence over any club
rules if there is a dispute between the parties to this Contract.
GOVERNING LAW
This Contract is governed by and must be construed according to the law of Victoria.
ENTIRE AGREEMENT
To the extent permitted by law, in relation to the subject matter of this Contract, this Contract:
(a) Embodies the entire understanding of the parties, and constitutes the entire terms agreed by
the parties; and
(b) Supersedes any prior written or other agreement of the parties
