University of Toronto Department of Anesthesia Translational Research Grant Competition November 21st, 2012 The University Department of Anesthesia will hold a one-time competition for a major new award to support basic research within the University of Toronto, Department of Anesthesia. This competition (a single award of up to $100,000 over 2 years, commencing July 1, 2013) will provide funding for research led by a full-time faculty member in the Department of Anesthesia, University of Toronto. The goal is to support high-impact research that would attract additional, substantial peer-reviewed operating funds. Eligibility: The (nominated) Principal Investigator must have a current, full-time clinical MD faculty appointment with the Department of Anesthesia, University of Toronto, be a member of a conforming practice plan, and be a current or previous holder of a university department Merit Award. There may be collaborators from any discipline, either within or external to the University of Toronto. Funds will be disbursed under the name of one of the Principal Investigators (the ‘nominated PI’) for the successful application. Projects which are highly novel, innovative or translational will be given particular consideration. Members of the UT Anesthesia Executive Committee may attend the review, as non-voting participants. The review will take place between March and April 2013.
