A 20 point TLC is a minimum of 80 hours with at least half of the hours outside the contract day.) Proposal Submission Date: 12/17/2007 Proposal Description (2-3 sentences for publishing to prospective participants): The Kaufman Early Intervention Program provides an opportunity for Speech Pathologists to learn about the evaluation and treatment of a neurological condition known as Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Children with Apraxia of Speech are unintelligible because they either lack an adequate repertoire of consonants and vowels, or have difficulty combining the oral movements necessary to form words. It is a condition which may be seen in students in regular, non-severely and severely-handicapped classes. This seminar will focus on practical interventions that will provide Speech-Language-Pathologists with tools to help students with Apraxia of speech progress from simple core vocabulary to phases and sentences, and eventually conversational speech. In turn, these students may be better able to improve in their participation and performance in academic activities.
