Study Group Annual Review – Museums 1. Established: Museums & Society study group was established in July 2001 2. Current Membership Figure: 101, BSA members/non-members split 60/40 approx 3. SG Expenditure: £106 SG Income: £160 4. Aim/s of SG: To provide a forum for the discussion of the museum as a site for sociological theorizing and empirical research. 5. Review of Year: This year the Museums & Society study group has continued to provide a forum for collaboration between university social scientists with museum interests and museum practitioners with an interest in the social sciences. The group has maintained its membership throughout the year, and it has via email and the web site at the BSA provided members with information about current news and events. 6. Key Activities during year April 2007-Present: Information on current news and events circulated to members throughout the year 7. Concluding Remarks: The Museums & Society study group will continue to present a series of one-day seminars or workshops on various aspects of museums & society research. 8.
