Sofia Xynarianou She was born in Athens in 1986 and graduated from the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Athens. After completing her studies majoring in history, she worked as an intern in the Historical Archives of the Benaki Museum, while working as a columnist in the journal "Historical Issues" where she published her thesis of the work on "Bezesteni: The city within a city". She continued her studies in Museology successfully completing the Interdepartmental Graduate Program "Museum Studies" of the University of Athens and developing her thesis titled "Museological Study: The Museum-Archive of Alexandros Papanastasiou". During her graduate studies she worked on papers of various issues, helping her to indulge in the museological practices (organization of exhibitions, design of communication policies of cultural institutions, writing of museum texts, etc.) laying the foundations for the start of her professional course as a museologist. She collaborated with the Museum of Asia Minor Hellenism "Filio Haidemenou" as a member of the group that undertook the planning and implementation of a training program entitled "A suitcase of memories: A key, some cinnamon and an old photo", which was first shown at the 16th Meeting of Museums of Contemporary Culture in collaboration with the Greek sector of ICOM. She participated in the preparation of the application file of the city of Delphi for claiming the title of European Capital of Culture 2021 coordinating the suggestions of the collaboration of scientists, as well as assisting with her own proposals on cultural matters. Main areas pertaining to her interests are the organization and interpretation of exhibitions with emphasis on historical museums, writing museum texts and articles, the biographical approaches to museums, the relation between museums and societies, the functions and multiple readings of archives, the research, display and promotion of archival collections etc..
