Our alphabet is a variation of the Greek alphabet. The Roman (i.e. our) alphabet has some extra letters and has lost some of its Greek counterparts, but most are the same, though they may be shaped a little different.

Listed below are the 24 letters of the Greek alphabet and their Roman derivatives. In the 5 th column are the letters to type in the Windows symbol font. The first column is the lower case version, the second the upper case version of the letter named in the 3 rd

column.
