Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively Meet projects deliverables and deadlines consistently Ability to operate in self-directed work teams Computer proficiency (skilled in the use of Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook and Constant Contact programs) Applicant may be subject to a background check Valid driver’s license and use of vehicle Reports to: President/CEO Major Goal: The Membership Development Director will build and maintain positive relationships with current and potential investors; will focus on enhancing member experiences; and increase retention rates. With this goal in mind, the Membership Development Director will support the Chamber’s mission, vision and values with the goal of increasing the Chamber’s membership investors. Key Result Area #1: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 5. 6. Direct and lead the development and implementation of a membership retention and sales program to support the goals and strategies of the organization. Responsible for development, implementation and tracking strategies to meet membership retention and sales goals as specified by the annual business plan and long-range plan. Maintain a log of contact visits/calls with current members, to be provided to the President within the quarterly debriefing report. Implement the annual renewal plan including follow up letters, calls and visits to member investors. Lead to implement annual membership drive/Total Resource Campaign if directed by board. Assist in the development of small business programs that meet the needs of the membership. Develop, coordinate and/or assist in networking events; such as membership drives, new member receptions/breakfasts, ribbon cuttings, staffing of Business After Hours/Business Over Breakfast, and Membership Appreciation Day (MAD). Responsible for leading the process of dues collection of past-due accounts and creating a successful retention of the Chamber’s membership. Work directly with the Office Administrator on reviewing dues and sponsorship invoicing and reporting on a monthly basis. Develop volunteers to achieve goals of the Membership Program. Key Result Area #2: Supervise the Solicitation of membership investments and sponsorship sales Supporting Goal: Help ensure the successful growth of the Chamber’s membership and other revenues. 1. Supervise and mentor the Membership Account Executive(s) in prospecting for new membership investments. 2. Work closely with Director of Communications and Event Manager to assist in supporting/monitoring program and event sponsorships. 3. Assist in giving direction to the Membership Account Executive(s) in securing advertisements for Weekender, website and other possible sales opportunities. 4. Act as the Sponsorship Liaison implementing regular communications and reporting of benefits directly to sponsor investors. Work in coordination with the Events Manager to insure sponsors receive expected benefits at events. Key Result Area #3: Supporting Goal: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Member Relations Ensure that Chamber members are informed of the ways in which they can utilize their membership to the fullest. Organize and coordinate the meetings of the Ambassador Committee and their taskforces. Prepare agenda with the Ambassador Chairman/management team and seek input on membership-related projects, etc. Serve as an “information source” and resource to members regarding benefits, opportunities, discounts, etc. Answer questions and provide assistance to ensure a high level of member investor satisfaction. Coordinate, communicate and attend member ribbon cuttings/grand openings and New Member Orientations. Build business relationships with members and potential members at Business After Hours, New Member Orientations, Annual Banquet, Golf Tournament, Healthy Living Expo and other Chamber events, and community events as directed by the President. Act as staff support and assist the President with the Lodging Tax Taskforce. Key Results Area #4: Event support Supporting Goal: Assist Event Manager in the staffing of events 1. Participate as a staff support resource for the Event Manager as needed. Key Result Area #5: Office Assistance Supporting Goal: Assist staff as necessary to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Chamber office. 1. Participate as an active member of the Chamber staff, which is a positive and dynamic team dedicated to exceeding customer expectations. 2. Participate in weekly staff meetings for the purpose of communication and coordination among entire staff. 3. Make use of available software applications in a way that ensures that our members and the general public view the Chamber as a respected, professional, efficient organization. Have a thorough knowledge of the Membee database and understand how to manipulate the program to deliver the desired reports. 4. Answer phone calls and assist with walk-in traffic if necessary. 5. All other activities and/or projects assigned by the President.
