Facility Website: www.kathleennicoll.com Facility Short Description: The Nicoll Lab features a wet lab for sedimentary and geochemical analysis of soils and sediments, and a suite of GSSI Ground-Penetrating Radar Equipment for the subsurface imaging and analysis of shallow geologic strata, ice and snow, and built environments such as those made of concrete. Facility Long Description: The Nicoll Lab features a wet lab for sedimentary and geochemical analysis of soils and sediments, with emphasis on preparation for geochronologic determination such as C-14 and Optical Dating. Field equipment includes differential GPS survey transits and a suite of GSSI Ground-Penetrating Radar Equipment for the subsurface imaging and analysis of shallow geologic strata, ice and snow, and built environments such as those made of concrete. The Nicoll Lab focuses on geological and archaeological research applications, but has participated in police forensic surveys and damage analysis.
