Endoscopy Unit Philosophy
On the Endoscopy unit we aim to provide a happy and supportive team. All staff on
the unit are valued as individuals, regardless of band or status.
An important aspect of our role is to provide optimal care to enhance the quality of
life for patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic endoscopy procedures.
We recognise the importance of providing care, which is evidence based to enable
us to meet JAG guidelines. It is our desire to create a good learning environment for
student nurses and recognise that we can all learn from each other using every
opportunity to promote learning.
We recognise that all patients are individuals and ensure that all religious and
cultural beliefs are taken into consideration when visiting the unit. We endeavour to
maintain the privacy and dignity of patients and guarantee confidentiality.
The unit strives for excellent communication within the team in order to meet the
holistic needs of the patient.
We try and make patients feel welcomed, and hope to create a pleasant, calm and
friendly environment throughout their journey.
