Greetings cousin, from another of Harmon’s grandchildren. I am from George’s line that moved to Ohio with his nephew, Christian. Do you have any information on Harmon’s origin or his marriage? In finding Christian’s grave site it seems that Harmon must have been married and had children before coming to America as a soldier in 1776. He would have been an extremely young grandfather otherwise. If he was born in 1756 it couldn’t have been too long before coming to America. Have not been able to find who Christian’s father was. That issue of the Ashland weekly news paper was missing. Will try to check papers of surrounding towns to see if they reported anything of his death or history. I met Frank Baird near Bedford 14 years ago and acquired his Dick genealogy book. Do you know if there is anyone continuing the research and family reunions there? There is a German research book on Hessian soldiers in the American Revolution that is called something like “Hellena” that lists several Dick’s serving under General Rahl, but none of them were Harmon. Several Henry’s but I don’t know enough to tell if any of them could be Harmon. Hope to hear from you on your research success!
