Our hope for this new experience is to provide first year students with the knowledge and skills it takes to get involved within their fraternity or sorority and The University of Georgia campus. What is Freshman Greek Leaders? We will meet bimonthly to prepare participants to step into leadership positions in chapters or on-campus organizations, make them aware of involvement opportunities, and to introduce them to fellow Greek students. Our goal is to have representation from every fraternity and sorority. What will the Freshman Greek Leaders Do? Freshman Greek Leaders will: - Meet other freshmen Greek students - Learn about UGA’s Greek Community - Discover how to get involved and lead at UGA and in Greek Life - Network with UGA administrators and professionals - Be introduced to UGA student leaders - Represent their chapter within the group - Discuss the status of the Greek community - Plan and carry out a Philanthropy Event! What will I get out of being a Freshman Greek Leader? At the end of the year, Freshman Greek Leaders will have: - Many new friends from a variety of fraternities and sororities - Awareness of opportunities for leadership and service at UGA - Connections with UGA Faculty/Staff/Administrators and student leaders - A better understanding of the Greek community - Knowledge and skills to take on leadership roles in your chapter or on campus - A leadership experience to put on their resume What is the time commitment like? Freshman Greek Leaders will meet once in the fall and twice a month in the spring semester from 8:00pm until 9:00pm (at the latest) on the following dates: - Tuesday, November 13 – Meet & Greet--Tate Reception Hall - Tuesday, January 15 - Tuesday, January 29 - Tuesday, February 12 - Tuesday, February 26 - Tuesday, March 5 - Tuesday, March 26 We look forward to getting to know you!
