Aula 3
Progress expectation
By the end of the class the students will know the phonetic chart and will be
able to pronounce sounds better.
Sounds, phonetic script and pronunciation.
The phonetic script, different sounds and how to pronounce them.
The aim of this class is to teach the students different vowel sounds and
the international phonetics script in order for them to be able to pronounce
words better.
Students will be able to recognise phonetic symbols from the international
phonetic script and know their sounds and be able to pronounce them
correctly.
I am assuming that the students will not know the international phonetic
script but I know that they all need work and to practise their pronunciation.
I will use relevant worksheets and printouts of the phonetic script, I will also
use recordings from the internet.
I will assess throughout by using concept check questions. I will be able to
assess through how well they use the phonetic script and how well their
pronunciation of the sounds are during the lesson and exercises. I will also
be able to assess the students’ learning through how well they do the
exercises throughout and more so at the end of the lesson.
