research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan has recognized the company’s game-changing power
conversion technology with the global 2015 New Product Innovation Award. Presented on
Wednesday, Sept. 16 at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara, California, the Frost & Sullivan New
Product Innovation Awards are given each year to companies that have demonstrated excellence
within their industry and acceptance in the marketplace. Semitrex will receive the award in the
Internet of Things (IoT) Power Conversion Module category for its high-efficiency transformerless
IoT AC/DC power supply.
Noting that massive energy shortages from connected IoT devices is a critical challenge
that needs to be overcome, Frost & Sullivan utilized key criteria including quality, reliability and
price/performance value to benchmark Semitrex against key competitors. Frost & Sullivan
concluded that Semitrex’s TRONIUM Power Supply System(s) on a Chip™ (PSSoC) will make a
positive impact on the impending energy crisis through the use of its patented Muxcapacitor™
cascading capacitor voltage reduction technology.
Tackling the global energy crisis head-on, Semitrex’s core energy efficiency power supply
technology improves the way that power conversions are made in order to create a significant

increase in power efficiency. Specifically, Semitrex technology has the ability to convert AC power
worldwide to virtually any lower voltage with over 90 percent efficiency (across all load ranges)
from 50 milliamps up, with less than one milliwatt of Vampire Load (standby) draw power. A preregulation voltage-reduction technology that uses embedded silicon capacitors to convert the
voltage, Muxcapacitor is what sets the Semitrex approach to power conversion apart from
traditional methods and enables high energy efficiencies. Found in Semitrex’s highly energyefficient TRONIUM PSSoC, Muxcapacitor technology includes patented switch capacitor voltage
