for adverb in NB. Discuss.
 Check work together, then apply construct in own writing by highlighting it in the
journal entry. Swap journals and check for correctness.
 Pass back and review test.
 Introduce vocab from one of their core classes, copy words onto flashcards.
 Discuss journal prompt.
HW: Study vocab; complete lesson 49 Compound Adverbs
Day 2
 Respond to daily journal prompt.
 Share and check HW. Complete daily grammar activity Lesson 47 –ly adverbs. Copy
definition and examples in NB.
 Check work together, then apply construct in own writing by highlighting it in the
journal entry. Swap journals and check for correctness.
 Review vocab.
 Introduce writing function. Use graphic organizer on P Board - guided and independent
practice.
HW: Study vocab. Choose a journal to revise and incorporate new writing function.
Write on new piece of paper.
Day 3
 Respond to daily journal prompt
 Complete daily grammar activity Lesson 48 not and n’t.
 Check work together, then apply construct in own writing by highlighting it in the
journal entry. Swap journals and check for correctness.
 Review writing function. Recite revised journal entry while peer listens for the writing
function. Then peer revise new draft and self-assess writing. Type a good copy.
 With extra time review writing function and grammar on computer.
HW: Study vocab; complete grammar worksheet on Lesson 50 – how, when, where.
Day 4
 Take weekly test on grammar (Adverbs Quiz 1) and vocab.
