EQAO Released Items From Grade 9 Mathematics Assessments
The accompanying files contain released EQAO questions from several recent Grade 9
Mathematics Assessments, for both Academic and Applied . The questions have been
sorted by strand, courtesy of Simcoe County District School Board. The files are in
Word format, and are all editable.
These questions could be used in a number of ways to support Grade 9 students who will
be writing the EQAO assessments.
Teachers could:






include in unit tests;
use in class as part of regular review;
use as review for unit tests or final exams;
use as “Minds On” or “Ticket To Leave/Exit Card”;
modify questions to increase the bank of available questions for their classes;
use in other ways to support student success on the EQAO assessments.
Students could:




identify enduring understandings or recurring concepts based on these samples;
analyze common elements and styles in the questions;
develop their own solutions and ask a learning partner to check them
write their own questions based on these samples.
Teachers are encouraged to use these materials with their students in a variety of ways,
such as think-pair-share, jigsaw, carousel, graffiti, gallery walks, etc.
