Alfred Century Bicycle Tour
The Re-enactment of a September 1895 Bicycle Century (100-mile tour)

Tour begins and ends at Almond Municipal Building, Almond, N.Y. (I-86 Exit 33)
REGISTRATION: Beginning at 7:00 A.M. at Almond Municipal Building
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Retracing the original 1895 Century route, the route is entirely paved. The course
goes through Scio, Belmont, Friendship and Cuba to Olean and back, follows rivers, streams, railroad tracks and
a deserted canal bed. The course will be marked and include turn-arounds for 50 miles and 25 miles.
Participants will be given a course map and directions.
REST STOPS: Olean Wholesale Grocery Co-Op, Inc. is the 100-mile turnaround location. Bikers can make
rest stops at convenient stores located along the route in Scio, Belmont, Friendship and Cuba.
FEES: Cost to participate is $20.00. Proceeds will benefit Genesee Valley Habitat for Humanity and the Alfred
University campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity in their efforts to build simple, decent, affordable houses in
partnership with those who lack adequate shelter.

ALFRED CENTURY - CENTURY Waiver/Release Form
I understand that the Alfred Century Bicycle Tour requires a helmet to be worn at all times while riding in the Tour*. I further agree that at any
given time I fail to wear a helmet while riding in the Tour, I will no longer be considered a participant in the Alfred Century Bicycle Tour without
any further notice required to be given by the sponsors. As a non-participant, I agree to release the sponsors from any further liability regarding my
conduct.
In signing this release, I understand the intent thereof, and I hereby agree and will, for myself, executors, administrators and assigns hereby
release all sponsoring businesses and organizations and their agents from all claims of damages, actions and causes of actions whatsoever, in any
manner arising or growing out of my participation in the Alfred Century Bicycle Tour or any activities associated herewith. I hereby attest that I am
physically fit and prepared for this event. I also give full permission for emergency treatment in case of injury or illness and to the use of my name
and photograph in any materials produced by the sponsors.
*To authenticate their costume, antique bikers are permitted to ride without a helmet at their own risk.
