 Working as Scientist (Plant Breeding) in Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University,
from September 2007 till to date.
 Worked as Senior Research Fellow in Biotechnology Unit, ANGRAU from 29-12-2006 to 129-2007 and at Directorate of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad from January 2003 to
December 2003.
 Worked as Guest Faculty for part time M. Tech and M. Pharmacy (Biotechnology) at
Institute of Science and Technology, JNTU, Hyderabad from December 2005 to June 2007.

AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS
 Awarded with Sri. Munnangi V. Subba Reddy Memorial Gold medal in 36th annual
convocation of ANGRAU for securing highest OGPA in Masters Degree in the
Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding.
 Awarded with Sri. Mandava Venkataramaiah Gold Medal in 43rd annual convocation
of ANGRAU for Best Research Thesis in Ph. D in Department of Genetics and Plant
Breeding
 Awarded with “Best AICRP Centre on Castor” for outstanding research carried out
from 2005-2009 by DOR, Hyderabad at Anand Agricultural university on 13-05-2010.
 Awarded with “Best AICRIP Centre Award on Rice” to the Institute for the year 2012
under AICRIP) at 48th Annual Workshop from 13th to 16th April 2013 at Srinagar,
Kashmir.
 Awarded first prize for preparation and presentation as PI, best concept note
entitled “Development of pre breeding lines with yield genes/QTLs in Sambha
mahsuri and Jasmine 85 rice for irrigated ecosystem” in training programme on
Molecular Breeding conducted at IRRI from 02-13, September 2013.

RESEARCH CONTRIBUTIONS
 Sorghum: Evaluation and maintenance of 106 sorghum germplasm lines for various
morphological characters, yield and maturity parameters and evaluation of nearly
1500 breeding material in different generations (F3 to F6) during rabi 2007-08.
Conducted five AICRP trials and 82 A lines and 71 R lines were maintained and 70 fresh
crosses were attempted.
 Castor: Development and deposition of 30 Microsatellite markers in Castor in NCBI
Genebank with Locus No.HQ122621- HQ122650. Mapping of Fusarium wilt resistance
gene(s) was done in castor using RAPD markers. Actively involved in development and
release of PCH 111 and PCH 222, two high yielding and wilt resistant castor hybrids
from RARS, Palem in April 2010. Generation of mapping population of two crosses i.e.,
VP-1 X RG 72 and DPC-9 X PCS 124 for identification of QTLs governing drought
tolerance in castor.
 Sesamum: Inheritance and mapping of powdery mildew tolerance was studied and
QTL Pm 1 respectively for powdery mildew tolerance was identified.
 Rice: Evaluation of nearly 8000 breeding material in different generations (F3 to F6)
in the past three years. Introgression of Saltol QTL for salinity tolerance in to mega
variety MTU 1010 is under progress. Developed 14 advanced backcross lijnes with
neck blast tolerance in rice using MAS. Four lines with introgressed drought
tolerance QTLs were under field evaluation.
