The PCR machine is the tool with which the DNA Analyzer is read. The DNA Analyzer & PCR machines are highly important in translating the DNA map of samples from plants, animals, microorganisms, and to record the genetic resources of flora & Fauna of Qatar. This technology is invaluable, due to the potential benefits to the environment, through teaching for faculty & students, research and for Qatar to register the genetic biological resources of the country. This would assist in maintaining the link between students/society and the Qatari environment in particular, encouraging all to explore and preserve the environment. By providing students and faculty with the opportunity to explore and preserve the Qatari biological resources, Qatar University is realizing its vision, through advancing the cultural and scientific development of the Qatari society while preserving its Arabic characteristics, and to provide the country with specialists, technicians and experts in various fields, and equip citizens with knowledge and advanced research methodologies. II) Project: Workshops Estimated Sponsorship QR Amount: 80,000 Description: The Department of Biological & Environmental Sciences is conducting two major workshops: the Animal Cell Culture workshop & the Environmental Biotechnology workshop provide an opportunity for attendees to train on highlyspecialized techniques, and apply them in their research and teaching methodologies. This in turn advances research and supports the university’s mission & vision.
