2nd International Forum on CPD Accreditation Recently CPD Executive Officer Teresa Brandau-Stranks attended the 2nd International Forum on CPD Accreditation which was held at The Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Sydney. The aim of the forum was to develop an international consensus on values, principles and metrics for CPD accreditation systems and discuss these openly with industry professionals from around the world. There were interesting workshops and sessions on the role of simulation in CPD, the role of CPD accreditation systems in performance improvement, reviews of research literature and benchmarking. The forum heard from overseas CPD representatives from the United Kingdom, Oman, USA, Canada, Hong Kong and South Africa. If you are interested in any of the presentations which discuss and highlight many challenges and opportunities of embedding CPD within systems of revalidation and re-certification please contact Teresa Brandau-Stranks. The forum confirmed that the ANZCA CPD program is ahead of its time with many of the other countries and Colleges not having online programs available to their Fellows or accreditation systems for their CPD activities/events. The College now proceeds to the next stage of CPD accreditation in line with the new National Registration Scheme which commences from July 1, 2010.
