Lead this 100 year old college, accredited by the New York State Board of Regents and the Middle States Commission
on Higher Education, into the world of blended and online learning. Lead the operation, update, and expansion of the

New Initiatives

Launched the college's distance learning program and formulated a strategy

Implemented a plan to reduce the College’s operating costs, deliver 120 blended and online courses serving
over 1500 learners per semester, and impacted the bottom line by $2.5M a year.

Successfully negotiated with the Union an online teaching policy and a robust faculty evaluation procedure. A
key contributor in reaching agreement with the Union for offering of distance learning programs.


Added more than a half million dollars to the Academy’s bottom line by transforming its static 13-book
encyclopedia-style collection into a more user-friendly, dynamic award-winning digital modality.

Pioneered the industry’s first online product designed for preparing ophthalmologists for the re-certification.

Produced 3 self-assessment products, dozens of on-demand online courses, and simulation cases.
Introduced digital products including CDs and DVDs, as well as, 14 bi monthly e-newsletters.

Supported the Academy's Global Initiative by supplying products designed for international use, such as, the
Compass study tool, and the International Scholar Awards exam preparation and testing product.

Product Branding and Market Penetration

Created e-learning tactical plans to launch O.N.E.(Ophthalmic News and Education Network), a knowledgeon-demand portal, lauded as one of the leading web sites in medicine. The site garnered a $1M in
sponsorships and $5M in subsequent endowment.

Rocketed website traffic from 7,000 to 25,000 unique monthly visits; oversaw development work by a team of
IT professionals in India.
