Twin Lakes Center has been providing comprehensive drug and
alcohol services to the region for over twenty five years. The facility is

Programs. The main campus is situated in a rural but easily accessible
location, providing a calm and scenic environment for the recovery
process. Services provided at this facility include Non-hospital
detoxification, Buprenorphine detoxification, Adult short term
residential, partial, and outpatient services. Prevention / Education
Services are also provided to the community through this location.
We continue to provide services in Cambria and Bedford counties.
Intensive outpatient is offered at the Bedford, Somerset, and
Johnstown offices. Outpatient counseling is provided at the following
locations: Somerset, Bedford, and Johnstown. Prevention/Education
is provided in Somerset County.
Twin Lakes Center accepts a variety of payment sources, with
numerous contracts with counties across the state. Twin Lakes
Center is a HealthChoices participant.
Twin Lakes Center continues to develop and grow the Residential
program to highlight the differences between men and women in
recovery. Twin Lakes has separated the activities by gender
throughout most of the daily activities. This has allowed the focus on
gender specific issues to increase and has allowed more open and
honest participation of each member.
The women have been able to focus on topics including self-esteem,
healthy relationships, building a strong support network, dealing with
trauma and abuse, and managing difficult emotions in healthy ways.
They have been able to focus more on accepting themselves for who
they are, making peace with who they used to be, and striving for
what they are capable of becoming in the future. Individual and
group counseling provides a holistic treatment for each unique
woman in residential treatment to encourage the best possible
outcomes.
The men have been able to focus more on the issues that directly
relate to their addiction including healthy relationships, addictive
behaviors, trust and honesty, guilt and shame, and healthy leisure
activities. The program focuses not only on relapse prevention but
also on embracing recovery and learning to live life on life’s terms.
Twin Lakes Center has been able to use contingency management
with both the inpatient and outpatient programs, as we continue
towards co-occurring competence certification. We have place much
focus on the levels of the residential unit and positively reinforcing
the men and women instead of focusing on the negative behaviors.
This has been very successful with the members but it has also helped
to eliminate or lessen some behavioral issues that we would typically
see in residential treatment.
The staff continues to develop and gain knowledge in co-occurring
treatment to be able to provide the best possible treatment to each
member and their individual needs. The focus continues to be on cooccurring trainings and staff development to continue to move Twin
Lakes forward with our goal of becoming co-occurring competent
certified in the future.
With our move in the Johnstown office came more growth.
Johnstown continues to be very busy with referrals and ongoing
members. The new office has room for expansion and we envision
some expansion occurring next year to keep up with our growing
referral base.
Bedford has seen the most growth throughout the last year. They
have been consistently becoming more stable in group programming
as well as the intensive outpatient program. As the year moves
forward, we anticipate more growth in this office as well.
We continue to grow as a facility, focusing on our core values of
patient care and continued enhancement of services provided. This
year revenue was greater than expenses by $176,676.
